Identity thieves target two Kelowna residents

KELOWNA – The public is being asked to help with two Kelowna crimes that remain unsolved.

In the early morning hours of May 5, a vehicle was broken into at a home on the 300-block of Still Pond Place in Glenmore. A wallet with credit cards and gift certificates was taken as well as a Garmin GPS. A release from Crime Stoppers notes the credit cards were used at businesses the same day.

The suspect has unique tattoos on his left hand and was captured by security cameras.

On June 17 a bank employee called one of their clients to verify a suspicious account activation. It was determined a woman entered the bank and using a driver’s licence, attempted to open the account. When the discrepancies were noticed the client confirmed her wallet and ID were lost the previous year.
