iN PHOTOS: Local FMX rider performs at historic stampede

KELOWNA – One of the Okanagan's freestyle motocross athletes was in the Cariboo this weekend performing in the 90th annual Williams Lake Stampede.

Kris Garwasiuk has been a professional rider for more than 16 years. Considered a veteran of the sport of FMX, he was the first Canadian to turn pro. He was just 15 years old at the time.

Garwasiuk now performs all around the world and over the weekend was one of the featured athletes at one of the biggest rodeos in Canada. After around a dozen successful jumps for the crowd he met and signed autographs for a long line of fans.
