MARIETTA, Ga. – Police say two teens arrested after a shooting that left one officer wounded in an Atlanta suburb are gang members.
Marietta police spokeswoman Kelah Wallace says Officer Scott Davis was shot in the leg just before 4:30 a.m. Sunday while responding to a call of people breaking into cars at an apartment complex. He was recovering after surgery.
Wallace said one teen began shooting from inside a vehicle as officers approached. Davis was hit, and three officers returned fire, hitting one of the teens.
Wallace said the two 15-year-old suspects were arrested. The injured one was taken to a hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.
Wallace said in an email Monday that investigators determined the teens are Blood Gang members and will face charges under the state’s gang statute, as well as other charges.
