NEW YORK, N.Y. – Kathleen Turner will now star and direct herself in the world premiere of an off-Broadway play about transgender identity after the original director and her big-name co-star left.
22Q Entertainment said Monday that Turner has stepped in to replace Nona Gerard as the director of John S. Anastasi’s “Would You Still Love Me…” Singer and actress Deborah Cox also has left and will be replaced by Roya Shanks.
Previews begin Sept. 26 at New World Stages.
Turner is the star of films like “Romancing The Stone” and “Prizzi’s Honor.” In the play, she plays the mother of a woman considering gender reassignment surgery.
