Calgary man who eluded capture in Vernon was busted in Revelstoke

An alleged thief was able to get away from police last week in Vernon, but he was arrested yesterday in Revelstoke thanks to a tip from the public.

Police allege Scott Robert Page, 33, from Calgary, was busy robbing two businesses in the north end of Vernon on April 17, according to a media release from the Vernon RCMP.

The police showed up and located Page, however they did not identify him and he managed to escape in a stolen vehicle.

Investigators reached out to the media to try and identify him.

Yesterday, April 27, a member of the public shared a tip with police which led Revelstoke RCMP officers to Page and the stolen truck. He was arrested without incident.

“We want to express our appreciation to the public and our media partners for your help with this investigation,” Const. Chris Terleski said in the release. “Your sharing of this information is what led to the timely apprehension of this individual.”

Page already had his initial court appearance, was kept in custody, and is due in court again today. He was charged with possession of stolen property, dangerous operation of a motor vehicle, failing to stop for police, obstruction, and two counts of theft.
