
Tourist who drowned in Skaha Lake last week identified
PENTICTON – The man who drowned in Skaha Lake last week has been identified.
Flaviu Attila Struczul, 33, of Satu Mare, Romania was in town visiting with a friend from the Lower Mainland on July 3. They were camping at Skaha Lake for the long weekend when, at around 1:45 p.m., Struczul went for a paddle board, according to a B.C. Coroners Service media release.
A witness saw him fall from the board after being hit with a gust of wind and appeared to be in trouble.
He was taken to hospital but could not be resuscitated.
The Coroners Service and RCMP continue to investigate his death.
