Kelowna sliding down list of most expensive places to rent in Canada

Despite a 0.3% increase in the rental cost of a one-bedroom apartment in Kelowna between April and May, the city has dropped two spots to the 15th most expensive city in the country.

Still, the average vacant one-bedroom apartment lists for $1,959, according to Rentals.ca

The price of a two-bedroom unit increased by 2.8% month-over-month to $2,669.

Vancouver remains the most expensive city in Canada at $2,831 for a one-bedroom apartment and $3,666 for two bedrooms.

Two other BC cities, Burnaby and Victoria, are more expensive than Kelowna while Surrey – the only other BC city on the list – is ranked two spots below Kelowna and $30 cheaper.

Grand Prairie, Alberta, is the most affordable of the 35 cities on the list at $1,023 for a one-bedroom apartment.
