Kamloops area road remains closed due to suspicious death

Police have blocked Paul Lake Road near Kamloops for hours after a man was found dead in the area.

RCMP was called around 12:30 a.m., Aug. 1, for a "suspicious death" on the 600 block of Paul Lake Road, which has remained closed to the public since.

“The death appears to be an isolated incident,” Staff Sgt. Jason Smart of the Southeast District Major Crimes Unit said in a news release.

Drivers heading looking to head in that area should detour to Pinantan-Pritchard Road while they keep the area closed.

BC RCMP didn't say where in the area the victim was found, but the 600 block is less than a kilometre east of the Chief Louis Way intersection.

Police haven't said how old the man was or whether he's been identified.
