UPDATE: Baby raccoons rescued in Okanagan 'growing like weeds'

WEST KELOWNA – The three baby raccoons saved from certain death by a West Kelowna veterinary hospital have settled into their new home in the Lower Mainland and are doing well.

Rose Valley Veterinary Hospital posted the pictures to their Facebook page Friday, July 15, saying the wildlife rehabilitation facility that took them sent the pictures that morning.

“They are doing very well and growing like weeds,” the post says.

Dr. Moshe Oz agreed to look after the three baby raccoons after a West Kelowna man found them abandoned and suffering on his property.

“They were in the process of dying,” he says. “Out in the sun, no food. They were barely moving. It might be a mistake but I could not leave them to die in the sun."

Critter Care Wildlife Society in Langley offered to rehabilitate the weeks-old trio and are committed to one day returning them back to the wild.
