Lake Okanagan Resort near West Kelowna destroyed by wildfire

Lake Okanagan Resort north of West Kelowna was destroyed by the out of control McDougall Creek wildfire.

Images posted to social media by boaters show buildings at Lake Okanagan Resort going up in flames today, Aug. 18, and then what was left in ruins.

The extent of the fire damage is not yet known.

Lake Okanagan Resort has not responded to a request for comment.

Other social media users shared their sadness and condolences in the comment section on the photos.
