Ashcroft ranch giving away 50,000 lbs of cantaloupes for free

Desert Hills Ranch is giving away 50,000 pounds of cantaloupes that would have otherwise been dumped.

The harvest of cantaloupes is reportedly of the best quality, but simply the wrong size to sell.

The Ranch posted on Facebook: “with food shortages around the world it’s not right to dump something like this in the garbage. Please take some and donate to your local food banks in your town or to anyone you think that would love to enjoy some delicious cantaloupe.”

The Facebook post garnered a lot of positive attention with over 8,000 likes and thousands of comments and shares.

The cantaloupes will be available to pick up at the Ranch’s Ashcroft location at 250 Elm Street, Ashcroft, BC, Canada, British Columbia.
