TAKOMA PARK, Md. – Authorities say one person has been arrested in connection with a shooting aboard a Metro red line train.
Metro Transit Police said in a statement Monday that 18-year-old Jermaine Brown of Seat Pleasant, Maryland, has been arrested and charged with assault.
Transit Police say an investigation showed the victim in the shooting is the half-brother of the suspect and police don’t believe he was the intended target. Police say Brown was travelling with his half-brother Sunday when there was an altercation aboard the train involving Brown and three other individuals.
Police say during the altercation Brown pulled a gun and fired multiple times, striking his half-brother once in the abdomen. Brown’s half-brother remains hospitalized in stable condition.
Police are working to locate the three individuals involved in the altercation.
