NewLeaf Travel Company boasts no-frills air travel at a lower cost to passengers
KELOWNA – The NewLeaf Travel Company tooks flight for the first time today, July 25, from the Kelowna International Airport (YLW).
NewLeaf aims to operate under a unique low-cost model and deliver savings to passengers.
“Our partnership with YLW and the new city pairings offers Canadians an opportunity to explore a beautiful region in the country – affordably. This is a step in the right direction for Canadian air travellers,” said Jim Young, NewLeaf Travel Company President and CEO in a release.
The airline offers only one class of seating, “economy slim line” in a dense seating layout on a Boeing 737 aircraft. Passengers can choose to purchase add-ons like priority boarding, on-board drinks, snacks, carry on and checked baggage, according to a release.
“We keep it simple. Our costs are completely unbundled – there are no free snacks and no free drinks. Your fare gets you the two essentials: a seat and a seatbelt. The rest is up to you,” posted on the NewLeaf website.
NewLeaf offers flights from Kelowna to Winnipeg, Saskatoon, Regina and same plane service to Hamilton.
