Premier and health minister in Vernon Friday for announcement

The premier and health minister will be in Vernon for a health-care announcement tomorrow.

What's in store isn't clear, but Premier David Eby and Minister Adrian Dix will be joined by Vernon-Monashee MLA Harwinder Sandhu for a news conference tomorrow, Feb. 2.

They will be at Vernon Jubilee Hospital for an announcement "about improving access to healthcare" for people in Vernon and the North Okanagan, according to a media advisory.

The city's last walk in clinic closed this winter, despite attempts from the province to help keep it afloat.

Spokespeople for the premier and health ministry did not immediately respond to a request for more information about what will be announced.
