BERLIN – German police are investigating whether a man in whose garage parts of a woman’s body were found after he died two years ago was involved in a string of killings going back to 1971.
The body parts were found in plastic barrels in Schwalbach, near Frankfurt. Police said Wednesday that the victim was a prostitute with a drug problem, and that officers are now working to establish whether four other killings of Frankfurt prostitutes between 1971 and 1993 were linked to the deceased suspect, identified only as Manfred S.
They said in a statement that they’re also investigating a possible link to the brutal and never-solved killing of a 13-year-old boy from Frankfurt in 1998. They said “several very specific actions” by the perpetrator suggest a link, without elaborating.
