Ex-Navy serviceman admits to enticing minors online

HARTFORD, Conn. – A former Navy serviceman from Connecticut has admitted to recording underage girls performing sex acts during video chats.

Authorities say Adam Simpson, who was stationed in New London, pleaded guilty Wednesday in federal court in Hartford to enticing minors to perform sexually explicit acts during online video chats.

Prosecutors say the 29-year-old Simpson used internet-based video chatting services to entice girls between the ages of 12 and 16 to perform sexual acts and engage in sexually explicit conduct, which he recorded and saved on his computer. Simpson lied about his age and presented himself as a young boy to deceive the girls.

Simpson is scheduled to be sentenced Sept. 21. He faces a mandatory minimum term of 10 years in prison and a maximum term of life behind bars.
