Grade 3 student at Calgary school rushed to hospital in critical condition

CALGARY – A Grade 3 student is in critical condition in hospital after he was injured at a Calgary school.

Police say paramedics responded to a call about a child in medical distress at Bearspaw School on the northern edge of the city.

The boy was rushed to the Alberta Children’s Hospital in Calgary.

There was a moment of silence for the student at the school’s Christmas pageant Thursday night.

RCMP are investigating.

Officials with the Rocky View school division are expected to release more details at a news conference.
