Cyclist hit by pickup

VERNON – A cyclist was taken to hospital with suspected head injuries after a collision with a Ford F250 Friday evening.

The 55-year-old man was riding his bicycle east at the intersection of 30th Avenue and 30 Street at about 6 p.m. and was struck by the white pickup truck as it navigated through the intersection on a green light, witnesses told police. 

The cyclist was taken to hospital and was later released after it was determined his injuries were minor.
