Kelowna’s Olympic swimmer comes home this weekend

KELOWNA – Local Olympian Kierra Smith will be welcomed back from Rio with a late night party at the Kelowna International Airport this weekend.

Smith, who competed in the 100m and 200m breaststroke without winning a medal, lands at YLW shortly before midnight on Sunday, Aug. 28.

"Sorry folks…..it's Sunday at 11:50 PM not am. 10 min b4 midnight. Please still come out if you can," she tweeted.

Smith finished in 7th place in the 200m final but failed to qualify for the 100m semi-finals.
