Bobbitt to make pleas to assault charges on April 29

David Bobbitt's expected pleas to assault and sex-assault charges will wait until April 29.

Bobbitt appeared in Penticton Supreme Court today via video. He was expected to make pleas to charges of aggravated assault, aggravated sexual assault, assault with a weapon, two counts of unlawful confinement and two counts of making threats.

Defence lawyer James Pennington said he wants more time for him and his client to go over the charges and other facts of the case.

Bobbitt has been accused of attacking a 22-year-old Penticton woman and her toddler son on July 30, 2011 at his store on Ellis Street. The two victims were allegedly confined for nearly a dozen hours.

The woman and her son were reported missing, were found and Bobbitt was arrested by police on Aug. 3 the same year.
