VANCOUVER – Mason Capital has lost its appeal of a B.C. court decision that cleared the way for Telus Corp. (TSX:T) to hold a meeting at which shareholders voted to approve its one-one-for share conversion plan. The legal battle between New York-based Mason and Telus has been going on since the spring over the telecom company’s move to have one common class of shares. Mason Capital had repeatedly said holders of Telus’ voting shares should get a premium to approve it.
