MIAMI – Tropical Storm Rick is moving to the west-northwest in the eastern Pacific off Mexico’s coast and poses no threat to land.
The National Hurricane Center in Miami says the storm’s maximum sustained winds Friday are 40 mph (65 kph) with little change in strength forecast during the next 48 hours.
Rick is centred about 445 miles (715 kilometres) west-southwest of Manzanillo, Mexico, and is moving west-northwest at 12 mph (19 kph).
There are no coastal watches or warnings in effect.
