UPDATE: Family of murder victim dealing with second tragedy following fatal rollover in Oliver

OLIVER – The mother of murder victim Roxanne Louie has been indentified as the woman killed in a single vehicle rollover near Osoyoos on the long weekend.

Beverly Anne Louie, 47 was the driver and only person in a SUV that left the road and rolled down an embankment early yesterday morning, Oct. 10, according to a B.C. Coroners Service media release.

The rollover happened in the 3100 block of Nik’Mip Road just north of Osoyoos. Police said a passerby noticed the GMC Jimmy’s lights about 100 feet down the embankment. The vehicle came to rest on its wheels. Louie was deceased at the scene.

It’s the second major tragedy for the Louie family in two years as they continue to mourn the death of Beverly’s daughter Roxanne Louie who was murdered in early January 2015.

Family spokesperson Laurie Wilson says in a statement the family would like to thank everyone for the prayers and good wishes but asks for privacy in order for the family to process "this overwhelming loss.”

The fight for justice for Roxanne Louie continues and the family will continue to ensure her child is cared for and protected, Wilson says.

Roxanne Louie was reported missing in January 2015 by Grace Robotti, co-accused in Louie's murder along with her brother Pier Robotti. Louie’s body was found several days later on a remote logging road north of Naramata.

The two accused recently had their trial moved from Penticton to Kelowna.
