Pacific Way reopens

The City of Kamloops is pleased to announce that the upgrade work on Pacific Way is substantially complete. The project, which started in July of this year, consisted of:

  • Replacement of 800m of water main
  • Intersection improvements at Howe Road and Greystone Crescent
  • New crosswalk at Greystone Crescent
  • Storm, sanitary, sidewalk and curb/gutter repairs
  • Milling and paving from Hugh Allan Drive to Aberdeen Drive

Pacific Way is now reopened to traffic. There may continue to be periods of single lane alternating traffic during the next three weeks to accommodate line painting, lighting installation, pipe lining, curb and concrete installation and restoration work. Transit service will resume on Pacific Way the week of October 31st, but users are urged to check the BC Transit website for the updated schedule and route changes.

The project was completed on time and under budget, thanks to the solid efforts and hard work of the contractor and City staff. Significant additional work outside the original contract was also added to project, and the completion date was not impacted.
