Singer Johnny Gill to perform at 32nd annual UNCF’s Mayor’s Masked Ball in Atlanta

ATLANTA – Singer Johnny Gill will perform at the 32nd annual United Negro College Fund Mayor’s Masked Ball.

Atlanta Mayor Kasim Reed and UNCF president Michael Lomax will host the fundraising event on Saturday night. The event attracts numerous celebrities, dignitaries and elected officials.

Each year the event helps raise funds for students who attend Clark Atlanta University, Morehouse College, Spelman College and the Interdenominational Theology Center at the Atlanta University Center.

Last year, the ball generated $1 million for UNCF and its 38 member colleges and universities.

Gill was a member of the R&B groups New Edition and LSG. His solo hits include “My, My, My” and “Rub You The Right Way.”

The ball was created in 1983 by Billye Aaron, wife of baseball legend Hank Aaron, and Andrew Young.
