TORONTO – CTV is adding a Canadian-made sitcom starring Ryan Belleville and a new Toronto-set detective drama to its lineup.
The broadcaster says the relationship comedy “Satisfaction” centres on a group of friends who “share their relationship woes and romantic wins, life crises, and personal ambitions.”
Belleville stars as a “dedicated single man” whose best friends include long-term couple Jason, played by MacFarlane, and Maggie, played by Stephanie Lemelin.
CTV says it’s also adding a new police procedural tentatively titled “Played.” It will follow the adventures of a police unit that goes undercover to infiltrate criminal organizations.
Programming boss Phil King announced the additions at the Television Critics Association tour in Pasadena, Calif.
The two programs join CTV’s burgeoning lineup of original scripted series including “Motive,” “Saving Hope” and “The Listener.”
