CRANBROOK, B.C. – Nick Zajac scored two goals and set up another as the Saskatoon Blades snapped a three-game losing skid with a 5-1 victory over the Kootenay Ice in Western Hockey League action on Tuesday.
Braylon Shmyr had a goal and an assist for the Blades (16-23-3) and Dustin Perillat and Terrell Draude rounded out the attack. Connor Gay chipped in with three helpers.
Brock Hamm stopped 23 shots for the win.
Matt Alfaro had the lone goal for Kootenay (8-33-3).
Declan Hobbs gave up four goals on 22 shots through 28:01. Wyatt Hoflin stopped 18-of-19 shots the rest of the way.
Saskatoon was 2 for 5 on the power play while the Ice failed to score on three chances with the man advantage.

PRINCE GEORGE, B.C. — Kody McDonald had a hat trick and Jansen Harkins scored on a penalty shot to lead the Cougars over Seattle.
Chase Witala and Tate Olson, into an empty net while shorthanded, also scored for Prince George (26-15-2).
Mathew Barzal and Jerret Smith had goals for the Thunderbirds (22-15-3).

EVERETT, Wash. — Cole Sanford scored a power-play goal 4:57 into overtime to lift Regina over the Silvertips.
Adam Brooks scored two goals and set up another for the Pats (19-18-6) and Jake Leschyshyn also scored.
Remi Laurencelle led Everett (24-12-4) with a goal and two helpers. Carson Stadnyk and Cole MacDonald rounded out the offence.
