Toronto FC midfielder Armando Cooper banned for one game for kicking Red Bull

Toronto FC midfielder Armando Cooper has been suspended one game and fined an undisclosed amount for violent conduct in the 90th minute of Toronto’s 3-3 tie with the New York Red Bulls on Sunday.

The MLS disciplinary committee sanctioned the 28-year-old Panamanian for a sly kick at Felipe as the Red Bulls’ Brazilian midfielder lay on the ground after being fouled.

Cooper will miss Toronto’s home match Saturday against the Philadelphia Union.
