Vernon RCMP kept hopping with break and enters

VERNON – RCMP in Vernon have been busy responding to break and enters at homes and businesses over the past week.

Sometime overnight on Dec. 4, a fence compound in the 2300 block of 50 Avenue was broken into. A fuel tank for a fork lift and two radiators, including a brass one, were stolen, according to a RCMP media release.

On Dec. 5 at about 1 p.m. neighbours watched as a man broke into a home in the 3600 block of 39 Ave., police say. The suspect, described as a Caucasian man under 30 years old, got away with some cash. He was wearing a dark-coloured hoody.

RCMP were called to another theft in progress at a construction site in the 5000 block of 27 Ave. at about 9:45 p.m., Dec. 5. The officer caught a man inside a shed and he was arrested. Felix Harris, 30, has been charged with break and enter, and possession of break and enter tools. He’s in custody waiting for a court appearance.

A thief was spotted by neighbours leaving a home in the 4100 block of 25 St. around 2:30 p.m. on Dec. 9, police say. Despite patrolling the area, the suspect got away with jewellery and cash.

On Dec. 10, a home was broken into in the 6700 block of Apollo Road and a television, two Xbox 360s, video games and jewellery were stolen.
