Fire at disabled children’s home in Serbia kills 1

BELGRADE, Serbia – Police say that a fire in a home for disabled children in northern Serbia has killed one person.

The fire in Veternik, about 80 kilometres (48 miles) northwest of the capital Belgrade, erupted in early afternoon on Wednesday.

Police have not identified the victim.

They say the fire has been put out and an investigation is underway to determine the cause.
