TSB investigators on scene of Kamloops area plane crash

KAMLOOPS – The Transportation Safety Board (TSB) has released photographs of the scene of the plane crash that claimed the life of a Kamloops teenager.

Lorne Perreault, 16, died when the Cessna 172L he was flying crashed into the hills near Cache Creek west of Kamloops on Tuesday. He was the only one in the aircraft.

Perreault was training to be a pilot at TylAir Aviation in Kamloops. The business has been in operation for 3 months. Along with the on-site investigation, the TSB is also looking at TylAir.

Investigators had to hike into the scene of the crash. They are gathering preliminary data according to the TSB.

No word yet on what caused the crash that killed the 16-year-old pilot-in-training.
