Officials: 2 dead, fate of 4 unknown as plane overturns after landing in Ukraine

KIEV, Ukraine – Ukrainian emergency officials say two people were killed and the fate of four is unknown after a passenger plane skidded past the landing strip and overturned in the eastern city of Donetsk.

Emergency Situations Ministry spokesman Volodymyr Ovsyanyk said the plane flying from Odesa arrived at the Donetsk airport Wednesday evening.

Of the 45 people on the aircraft, 39 have been rescued, two were found dead and the condition of four remains unknown.

It was not immediately clear what caused the accident. Rescuers and investigators are working at the scene.
