VIDEO: Kelowna’s biggest little Christmas town now even bigger

KELOWNA – Kathy Bernard’s miniature Christmas town has grown again.

It now not only takes up an entire 250 square foot section of her basement, but with the addition of a ski hill, has climbed up one of the walls to the ceiling. She says her husband has cut her off at nine 8-foot tables. That doesn't, however, mean the city has stopped growing.

This year K-Town, or Kathy’s Town, has a new train station, a new house, a camper, a second barn and a cabin. It takes her around a month to set it all up, and she admits she occasionally gets sucked into the world she works so hard to create.

“That’s Parker’s cabin,” she says, pointing to one of her newest residents. “Parker is the name of the person who lives there.”

Kathy is protective of her creation doesn’t let just anyone into K-Town, it is reserved for close friends and family.

“It’s for my grandchildren,” she says. "I’d be scared to let people in here, who knows what they’d think. It’s a little out of control.”
