Spry 95-year-old donates her age in metres to fund Okanagan Rail Trail
VERNON – A local woman is donating her age in metres to help create the Okanagan Rail Trail.
Rosalie Worbets, a spry 95-year-old, is determined to see the rail trail between Vernon and Kelowna completed in time for her to use it.
So, she decided to donate enough funds to complete 95 metres of the trail — the same as her age.
She sees the recreational corridor as a "health and wellness trail" and is encouraging other seniors to donate as well.
She fully intends to walk the trail in her lifetime.
“It’s on my bucket list,” she says.
