Drunken reaction to drug deal ends after call to Penticton RCMP

PENTICTON – Penticton RCMP were called to defuse a confrontation between an alleged drug dealer and an angry husband last week.

Cpl. Don Wrigglesworth says police were called around 1:30 a.m. on Dec. 30 by a woman who reported she and her husband went to a Van Horne Street address where a man answered the door, brandishing a firearm.

Police arrived at the scene to discover, after questioning, the woman went with her husband in a cab to the Van Horne Street residence to confront a man for selling cocaine to his wife.

The couple were drunk upon arrival at the residence, where the husband attempted to kick the door in. He was met by the resident, who held a gun.

Wrigglesworth said the weapon turned out to be a pellet gun that was never pointed at anyone during the confrontation.

Police escorted the two parties to separate locations after being told to stay away from each other.
