Ex-Towson dive coach pleads guilty in locker room recordings

BALTIMORE – The former diving coach at Towson University has been sentenced to probation for secretly recording women team members in a locker room.

Forty-three-year-old Maureen Mead pleaded guilty Wednesday in Baltimore County Circuit Court to visual surveillance and altering physical evidence in the October recording.

Prosecutors say Lisa Dever says the women didn’t believe Mead’s intent was to record them getting undressed, but rather to spy on them talking about the team.

Mead received three years of probation, which would allow her record to eventually be cleared if she meets all conditions.

Towson spokesman Ray Feldmann said in a statement that school officials “respect the judicial system and the process that took place today.”
