Flames put goaltender Karri Ramo on injured list, call up Joni Ortio

CALGARY – The Calgary Flames have placed goaltender Karri Ramo on injured reserve and called up Joni Ortio from their American Hockey League team.

Ramo left Thursday’s game in San Jose in the third period with the score tied 5-5 because of a collision with Sharks forward Joonas Donskoi.

Jonas Hiller finished out the game, which Calgary won 6-5 in a shootout.

Ortio’s record in Stockton, Calif., is 9-9 this season with a goal-against average of 3.36 and a save percentage of .893. The Finn was 0-2 in four starts for the Flames at the beginning of this season.

Ortio was 4-2 in six starts with the Flames in 2014-15.
