Crews bring small fire at Lavington mill under quick control
LAVINGTON – Firefighters from Lavington and Coldstream were called out for a report of a fire at the Tolko planer mill today, but the facility had the flames out before they arrived.
Marty Wright, Lavington fire chief, says crews were called about 11:15 a.m. Jan. 6 for a report of a structure fire at the Tolko planer mill in Lavington.
“Tolko’s crews got in in time and took care of it,” Wright says.
The small fire appears to have started in an interior wall Friday morning. The cause is undetermined.
