West Vancouver man faces assault charges in connection with woman’s injuries

WEST VANCOUVER, B.C. – A West Vancouver man faces eight charges in connection with the alleged assault of a woman at a home where police seized 28 firearms and a substantial amount of ammunition.

The charges against 42-year-old En Zhong Li range from unlawful confinement and aggravated assault.

Police say the 35-year-old woman suffered head and other injuries after she was allegedly struck several times with a firearm on Saturday night.

She has since been released from hospital.

Li has been remanded in custody for a second court appearance on Tuesday.
