PALM BEACH GARDENS, Fla. – Branden Grace sure hasn’t found anything too intimidating about the “Bear’s Trap” at PGA National.
The South African birdied all four of the holes in that closing stretch Thursday for a 5-under 65 at the Honda Classic. That gave him a share of the lead with Graham DeLaet of Weyburn, Sask., among the early starters.
Dustin Johnson finally got his game back on track and was among those at 66. The other guy in Johnson’s group, Tiger Woods, did well to salvage a round of 70. Woods took off his shoes to play a shot out of the water. He turned double bogey into par in an otherwise ordinary round.
Grace finished off his round with a three-iron that barely cleared the water on the par-5 18th.
