LANGLEY, B.C. – Corey Small completed a hat trick in overtime as the Vancouver Stealth edged the Calgary Roughnecks 14-13 on Saturday night in National Lacrosse League action.
Rhys Duch paced the offence with four goals while Jordan Durston also had a hat trick for the Stealth (3-4). Garrett Billings had a pair of goals with Logan Schuus and Joel McCreading adding the others.
Curtis Dickson scored five goals for Calgary (3-5) — including a goal of the year candidate. Tyler Digby had a hat trick and Reilly O’Connor struck twice. Dan MacRae, Karsen Leung and Jeff Shattler rounded out the attack.
Tyler Richards picked up the win after kicking out 31-of-40 shots in 49:30 of relief. Eric Penney turned away 7-of-11 shots in 11:46 of work. Mike Poulin made 14 saves in 14:07 of relief, but still suffered the loss. Frankie Scigliano started the game and turned aside 27-of-38 shots.
Vancouver converted three times on five power plays with the Roughnecks going 4 for 5.
