VERNON – The Vernon Recreation Centre is closed for unscheduled maintenance, after staff noticed electrical issues early this morning, Jan. 18.
According to a media release from the City of Vernon, BC Hydro is now working to repair a nearby transformer that's behind the power outage.
The building was evacuated and will remain closed until crews are finished working, the release says. Those who were evacuated were given free passes.
The city estimates the facility will reopen later this afternoon.
