Bail hearing adjourned for man charged in two Penticton shooting incidents

PENTICTON – A man allegedly involved in two shootings only hours apart in Penticton earlier this month had his bail hearing adjourned today.

Harley Maxwell McBride is currently in jail after being charged with 12 weapons offences stemming from the two incidents, which occurred early in the morning on Jan. 9.

McBride was seeking bail in Penticton court today, Jan. 19.

Crown prosecutor John Swanson says the hearing was adjourned to allow time for defence lawyer Don Skogstad to provide further information regarding sureties to Judge Gregory Koturbash.

McBride's bail hearing was also adjourned last week in order for him to seek representation.

The hearing, which is subject to a publication ban, is expected to go before a judicial case manager for a new date next week.
