NEW YORK, – Forwards Filip Forsberg of the Nashville Predators and Ryan Callahan of the Tampa Bay Lightning along with Montreal Canadiens goalie Mike Condon were named the NHL’s three stars Monday.
Forsberg had two natural hat tricks and added one assist as Nashville won all four of its games. He became the first player to register multiple natural hat tricks in a span of three or fewer games since Petri Skriko did so in consecutive contests with the Vancouver Canucks during the 1986-’87 season.
Callahan had two goals and four assists as Tampa Bay won all three of its games. Callahan, 30, a native of Rochester, N.Y., has 10 goals and 18 assists in 61 games for the Lightning this season.
Condon posted a 2-0-1 record as Montreal gained five of a possible six points. He posted a 1.63 goals-against average and .949 save percentage and in 41 games this season has a 16-17-5 record, 2.50 GAA and .906 save percentage.
Condon’s 16 wins lead all rookie netminders.
