Polson Artisan Night Market entertains with weekly thematic evenings

Every Friday from 4 pm to 8 pm in Polson Park, the Polson Artisan Night Market has been hosting unique themed markets every evening. Each week, organizers have been bringing entertainment and a unique twist to the weekly Friday market. The August 15 market hosted a Ren-Faire themed market, which was originally scheduled for July 31, but was postponed due to air quality. One of the many themes for the summer evening market that takes place in the park. The event had many people dressed up in medieval outfits and hosted a competition for the best outfit with cash prizes for first and second place. The North Okanagan Fellowship of Swordfighters was also in attendance, showing off a demonstration of sword fighting.

A Friday setup for the Polson Artisan Night Market

Next Friday, on August 21, the market plans to host a Twilight Karaoke market with updated hours from 3:30 pm to 7:30 pm, which will likely have people singing along to their favourite songs while they shop at the nearby vendors and food trucks. There will likely be some off-tune singing and some great attempts at singing along with some of the classics everyone loves, but everyone’s out to have fun regardless of how good a singer you are.

Following on August 28 is the annual dog-themed market, which last year hosted dog racing, a costume contest, and vanilla pup cups. Not much has been spoiled yet as to any new additions this year, but the market will post on socials if any information gets updated.

The market rotates food trucks each week and thrives on the idea that vendors must make, bake, grow, or upcycle whatever they’re selling to be qualified as a vendor.

The Polson Artisan Night Market runs until Saturday, September 19, and wraps up their summer events as part of the Sundog Festival, also taking place in Polson Park, Vernon’s newest festival for everything arts and culture.
