Billboard calling Trump ‘idiot’ roils New Jersey town
UNION TOWNSHIP, N.J. – A billboard referring to President Donald Trump as “Our Leader The Idiot” is making waves in a New Jersey town.
The billboard is in Union Township, about 12 miles (19 kilometres) west of New York City.
A New York-based activist tells News12 New Jersey that he’s paying for the billboard to promote a documentary film.
The town says it has no control over the privately owned billboard but calls it “potentially offensive.” A town spokeswoman says she doesn’t know how long the billboard will stay up.
The company that rents space on the billboard didn’t immediately return a message Tuesday.
