Jailed entertainer Rolf Harris faces more sex crimes charges

LONDON – Jailed television entertainer Rolf Harris has appeared in a London court to face seven more indecent assault charges, including one on a girl under 14 at BBC headquarters.

The 85-year-old artist-musician is serving a six-year sentence for sex offences against four girls.

The seven new assaults were allegedly committed between 1971 and 2004. Three of the alleged victims were under 14, and one charge alleges Harris assaulted a disabled woman outside a London hospital in 1977.

Harris appeared Thursday at Westminster Magistrates’ Court by video link from prison and denied all the charges.

Harris family lawyer Daniel Berke said the family was “disappointed and saddened” at the new trial

Harris was a fixture on British and Australian screens for years and once painted an official portrait of Queen Elizabeth II.
