BANGKOK – The Thai government has cancelled the passport of the fugitive heir to the Red Bull energy drink fortune who is wanted on deadly hit-and-run charges.
Thailand’s Foreign Ministry said Friday that Vorayuth “Boss” Yoovidhya will no longer be able to enter other countries on that passport and that his immigration status in whatever country he is in is now invalid. It said that makes him subject to penalties under his host country’s laws.
Vorayuth fled Thailand last month before a warrant for his arrest was issued. His current whereabouts are unknown.
The warrant was issued almost five years after Vorayuth allegedly left a motorcycle police officer dead after crashing into him with his Ferrari at high speed.
His family’s fortune is estimated at more than $20 billion.
