MONTREAL – Defender Laurent Ciman left practice on crutches with an ankle problem on Thursday but the Montreal Impact say it is too early to tell if the injury is serious.
Ciman went down when he was hit in the back of the foot by a shot from forward Anthony Jackson.
The central defender turned an ankle. The club will know more when it is tested by doctors, a team spokesman said.
Ciman joined the Impact last season from Belgian club Standard Liege. He was named defender of the year in his first season in Major League Soccer.
The Impact’s next match is April 2 in Seattle.
