Toronto-based AuRico Metals announces departure of chief financial officer

TORONTO – AuRico Metals Inc. (TSX:AMI) says its chief financial officer is leaving to pursue a CFO position at another company.

The Toronto-based mining company says the resignation of Robert Chausse will take effect Thursday.

Chausse was part of the management team that led a merger of Alamos Gold Inc. (TSX:AGI) and AuRico Gold Inc.

The transaction was valued at US$1.5 billion when it was announced last April.

AuRico Metals was spun off as a separate company as part of that transaction.

Among other things, it owns the Kemess copper-gold project in British Columbia and rights to royalties from several mines, including the Young-Davidson gold mine in Ontario.

The company says Chausse’s replacement will be announced at another time.
